Koç University & İş Bankası Artificial Intelligence Center (KUIS AI) is looking for talented and motivated graduate students (MSc and PhD including direct applications to PhD after BSc) to do research in all areas of Artificial Intelligence including machine learning, robotics,  image, video, and signal processing, human-computer interaction, natural language processing, applications in biology, medicine and computational systems.

With our 15 faculty specializing in AI, over 20 affiliated faculty collaborating from other fields, and over 100 graduate students and research staff, KUIS AI has become a leading institution in artificial intelligence research, education, and industrial collaboration. Our two new locations in Rumelifeneri Koç Campus and downtown İş Towers, full-time access to our 153-GPU cluster, generous funding for travel and conferences, and popular weekly AI seminars create an ideal research environment. KUIS AI is offering a fellowship with competitive benefits:

– Stipend: 4000 TRY/month for MSc and 6000 TRY/month for PhD students.

– Performance bonus: the stipends will raise by 1000 TRY/month after a qualified publication as the first author.

– Travel: Travel grants including full support for the first conference and additional support for subsequent top-tier conferences.

– Computation: A powerful GPU laptop, full access to our GPU cluster and additional cloud support as needed.

– Other benefits: Student housing based on availability or 1000 TRY/month housing aid. All students receive private health insurance and subsidy for meals.

The application deadline for Fall 2021 is Jun 18, 2021. Candidates should apply to the regular Koç University MSc and PhD programs in their own field and state their interest in AI research in their application. You can request an expedited early review to meet any unusual scheduling conflicts.
